Home description

This house is set in the village of Ventron ( Station Vert ) in the heart of the Vosges. This is a beautiful and largely undiscovered part of France that the French wisely have kept to themselves and has a wide variety of things to do in all seasons.

The living room

The house was once a small farmhouse restored in the 60s and consists of 1 double bedroom, 2 twin bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, accommodation on 2 floors, kitchen, sitting room, laundry, and attractive garden with barbecue. Full gas central heating is metered with thermostatically controlled radiators. In addition oil stoves are available.

Accommodation comprises

• Kitchen - New 5 ring gas cooker, multi-fuel cooker, fridge/freezer, microwave, toaster. Seating for 6+, Fully equipped with all utensils.
• Living Room - Sofa, 3 easy-chairs, bookshelves with loads of reading material and games, coffee table and TV.
• Bedroom 1 - 2 single beds, traditional glazed wood-burner, antique pine chest of drawers and cupboard. Duvets and blankets are included in the price but bed linen, towels etc. are not provided.
• Bedroom2 - 2 single beds, chest of drawers, traditional antique enamelled stove, desk and chair.
• Bedroom 3 - Large hand-built double bed, oil stove, 2 cupboards, and bedside tables en suite to -
• Bathroom 1 - Pine clad, curtained hanging space, shower, toilet, wash basin.
• Bathroom2 - Traditional slipper bath with shower, vanity unit, bidet, toilet. 
• Laundry - Internal drying space, rinsing bath, washing machine, iron ironing board. 
• Large basement area - with snooker table, dartboard.
• Craft workshop - Fully equipped, key available by special request (for safety reasons).

Outside

• Garden - with lawns and a traditional brick barbecue
• Hammocks - (between apple trees) 
• Table - for 6 with chairs
• Fruit trees - in season
• Plenty of hardstanding parking for 2 cars and/or caravan
  

About the location

Granite built and nestling in the hillside the house is approximately 100 metres from local shops, phone, post-box and the centre of the village yet overlooks wonderful scenic forest views. Village facilities include tennis courts, basketball courts, children's play area, and local hostelries.

The nearest supermarket is in Cornimont about 5k away and the nearest hypermarket is in the town of Remiromont which is 30 minutes away.
