The gite is located within comfortable walking distance of the medieval town of Uzes, which is situated equidistant between Nimes and Avignon.

The holiday experience at Chez Guarch offers unique opportunities to explore the stunning Gard region of the South of France.

The Duchy of Uzes is characterised by its castle, Provencal streets with intriguing antique shops and a twice-weekly market in the vicinity of the fountain. The spectacular arches in the town square featured in the film Cyrano de Bergerac.

In July, the annual Baroque festival presents the magic of Les Nuits d' Uzes. The surrounding terraced hills are covered in vines, orchards, lavender and sunflowers, dotted with small tranquil villages accessed along country roads lined with plane trees.

Chez Guarch is within easy access of airports at Nimes, Montpellier, Perpignan, Carcassone and Marseille. The TGV Motorail and Eurostar now provides a direct train route from St Pancras, London to Avignon and Nimes, all of which cut down significantly on travel time and offer cost effective journeys to the South of France.

The proprietor is an enthusiastic gardener and the property provides an abundance of Mediterranean flora in an informal and natural setting. Sylvie Guarch would welcome discussions and shared ideas on botanical issues of mutual interest.

• Bedroom 1 - with a double bed and separate bathroom with bath and WC

First Floor:

• Bedroom 2 - Yellow room enjoys two single beds
• Bedroom 3 - Pink room one single bed
• Bathroom - with shower and WC

Bed linen and towels are provided. A cot is available at no extra charge. Children are welcome at Chez Guarch.

The private swimming pool, set within the grounds, is surrounded by terraces with barbecue facilities and a shower room with washing machine.

Chez Guarch is located conveniently close to the historic town of Uzes, which oozes with individual shops, cafes, restaurants and other sources of interest and entertainment.

The legendary city of Avignon invites you to immerse yourself in its historic streets, exploring the boutiques before venturing into the sumptuous Papal Palaces in the heart of the City. A visit to the Pont Avignon should not be missed with river trips and walks along the river banks.

The principal city of Gard is Nimes with modern shopping outlets set amongst Roman ruins and monuments.

Further afield lies the Camargue, with exotic pink flamingos and the spectacular white horses of the Camargue, giving way to the coastline of the Mediterranean.
