The property is located in the pretty medieval village of Azille, which is situated between Carcassonne and Narbonne. If you are coming by plane from the UK there are extremely well priced international flights from Stanstead to Carcassonne airport, which can be reached in about 20 mins. The village has all the basic facilities with boulangerie, butcher, bar, chemist, post office, bank, and doctors within 5 minutes walking distance of the property.

The lounge

The property has everything required for the perfect holiday. The immediate impression is of a property of excellent quality and taste together with the welcoming ambiance of a family home: it has comfort, warmth, light rooms, and delightful grounds. The rooms are large, as follows:

• Hallway - Double front doors take you into a spacious hallway with a wooden staircase. Cloakroom WC off hall. A large picture window affords glorious views towards the Pyrenees as you enter the property
• Lounge - Large lounge with French windows leading to patio areas with beautiful views, open fireplace and quality furnishings. Modern CD System (See above)
• Dining room - Elegant room leading off lounge.
• Kitchen - French country kitchen fully equipped including dishwasher and microwave.
• TV Room - with sofas, Satellite TV, French window access to the grounds.
• Ground Floor Bedroom - with twin beds, access to the grounds, beautiful views, en suite bathroom.
• Office - Internet Access for those wishing to keep in touch.Xtra £25 per week.
• Sauna - Highly Specified deluxe Sauna available all year round.
• Jacuzzi - Commercially specified Jacuzzi with fabulous views towards the Pyrenees.

First floor:

Outside:

The property is in a superb position hidden beyond a rural drive with entrance gates that lead to the front of the property. To the right is the orchard with Apricot, Fig and Hazel Trees. There is ample parking together with a double garage. The grounds of over an acre, offer everything: beautiful gardens with mature trees, large pool with pool house with cooking facilities. The terraces lead onto a manicured garden with table and chairs where you may enjoy the fabulous surroundings whilst having a barbeque or just sampling one of the wonderful local French wines. There are many different aspects to the garden, with ample space for families and friends to gather together, but many nooks and crannies also for solitary moments. There is a real feeling of space and privacy with the stunning views of the Pyrenees as a permanent backdrop.

Bed linen, shower towels, beach/ pool towels, cushions for sun beds, etc included in the price.
Maintenance for the pool and gardens and a maid who will clean weekly. 

Should you require daily cleaning please request upon booking. (This will be an extra charge). Your bed linen will be changed once a week unless otherwise requested.

About the location

The Mediterranean resorts are 40 minutes away. You can relax in the peaceful old ports of Sete or Gruisson, or enjoy the more vibrant atmosphere of the modern resorts like Cap d'Agde. The Pyrenees are approximately 1 hour's distance, and Barcelona 1 hr 30mins. 

The stunning medieval walled city of Carcassonne is 20 minutes away. The Cite is surrounded by 52 towers and is spectacular when lit at night. A day out in Carcassonne is a must with its many world class and yet reasonably priced restaurants and art and craft shops.

Slightly further afield, the property is within 30-60mins from the historic towns of Revel, Lastours, Limoux, Castres, Mirepoix and Foix. The area is also famous for its many wines and Corbiere, Minervois, Fitou, la Clape, Malpere, Cabardes can be found locally. There are some wonderful family run "caves" in the area, producing quality wines, some of which are organic, and very reasonably priced; why not enjoy a little wine tasting at the same time? The village has its own "cave" within ten minutes walk of the property although the return journey has been known to take considerably longer.
