Coat Aillis consists of six cottages, Maison Principale, Maison Crock, Le Pressoir, Les Etables, L'Atelier and La Forge which over the past few years have been carefully restored with a tasteful balance between modern amenity and rustic charm set in tranquil countryside.  Each gite has its own private garden space with barbecue and garden furniture plus an ample supply of reading material. 

The extensive grounds at Coat Aillis offers a children's play area with swings and slides, a boule court for the more sportive or just sit in the orchard and meditate avoiding the football area!   A specially converted barn houses the table tennis and pool table well used as a social club in inclement weather.

The 12 x 6 metre swimming pool is heated and recently had an all weather pool cover installed, which extends the period from April to October giving guaranteed swimming regardless of the weather. Also can be locked to give extra security, the pool is walled with one gated entrance. There is also a sauna adjacent to the pool.

This spacious farmhouse provides plenty of room for joint family holidays on the ground floor, there is a large well equipped kitchen with a dishwasher, washing machine, large cooker, microwave and plenty of storage space.  The lounge/diner easily seats 14 comfortably and has a wood burner.  There is a third room which has a TV and VCR and can be used as an extra bedroom if needed.  The first floor has 4 bedrooms 2 with showers and wash basins, each has a double bed and there is a bathroom at this level.  The upper floor has 2 bedrooms one with twin beds and the other with a bunk bed - they have their own shower/toilet.  Outside the garden is isolated giving total privacy. 

About the location

This former farmstead has been tastefully renovated into 4 gites and a large farmhouse.  It is situated in idyllic countryside minutes from the sea by car, or a 20 minute walk through lanes and woods and just 5 minutes from the charming village Plestin les Greves.   The historic towns of Morlaix and Lannion are within 20 minutes with their thriving street markets Saturday and Thursday.  The Cote de Granite Rose with its spectacular rock formations is less than half an hour and nearby  is the "Cosmopolis" which consists of a telecom museum, planetarian and low tech "Village of the Gaulois", also the highly regarded golf course of St. Samson.

The dramatic coastline is intertwined with sandy beaches and small ports and is not over commercialised; the small villages maintain their traditional fetes and pardons giving plenty of opportunity to join in and try some Breton dancing.

How to get here

The nearest ports are Roscoff and St. Malo 40 minutes, or less than 2 hours, but Caen and Cherbourg are only four hours or you can fly direct to Brest from Gatwick.
