Your own secluded haven in the Limousin with a river running through the gardens where you can bathe, fish or kayak. While there isn't a house in sight from the property, you are actually a 10-minute walk from the authentic little Roman town of Châteauponsac. There you'll find just about anything you need to sustain you.

The cottage at Pont de La Bergére was, in its former life, a pumping station. It is of sound structure and sports attractive detail including the tallest barbecue chimney you have ever seen. The surrounding grounds include the bunk house shown below, large garden, a garage, terrace with barbecue, and one teeny tiny island complete with lily pads and Monet bridge.

At Le Pont de La Bergére, you are completely surrounded by a wildlife conservation area.  Hiking trails can be accessed just accross the road. The only neighbours you will hear are birds, distant church bells, an occasional car, the pleasant trickling of the river, and of course, friendly Limousin cows.

Fish, kayak, or bathe in your own garden - it's not quite high enough for swimming, but you can do that in the river or pool in town in July and August. We supply 4 mountain bikes for you to enjoy the splendid surrounding countryside at your own pace while communing with nature and getting out in the fresh country air.

Breath taking views from the living room.  Two bridges which the river Semme flows under after meandering through your garden singing its river song. There is an inherrent calmness about the house and garden that has to be experienced.  

We have built a brand new patio on the side of the house with a new 6 piece patio furniture and parasole, also we have installed a 4 seater spa for the adults to enjoy balmy summer evening here under the stars with a coup de champange  We have also provided 4 bikes for your enjoyment of this great diverse countryside.

About the location

Because you are right between the Dordogne and Loire Valley, you'll be in the catbird's seat when the time comes for that little day trip. But don't be surprised if you want to stay put!  Here are some ideas:

La Souterraine - the closest train station, is 15 minutes away by car. From there you are a 2.5 hour train trip to Paris. Paris - 2.5 by or car - and it's major roads all the way. Of course, you can also take the train - or even fly from Limoges Airport.
