Les Brunet is located near the pretty hilltop village of Fanjeaux, which is well equipped with boulangerie, butcher, bars, tea/coffee shop, general store, chemist, post office, doctors, etc. 

The property is about 1 min from Fanjeaux, approximately 10 mins from Bram and 20 mins from the bustling market town of Castelnaudary which has shops, banks, restaurants, bars, weekly market etc.

Les Brunet offers a lot of charm and character. It is built of stone with contrasting small stones around the windows and offers excellent views of the surrounding countryside.

All accommodation is on the ground floor.

  • Lounge/kitchen/diner - Open plan. Fitted well equipped kitchen area with cooker, hob, fridge, freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster, coffee maker, iron, iron board, etc.
    In the lounge/diner area there is a beamed ceiling, cream stone floor, table and chairs for 4 people, 2 sofas, CD/radio/cassette, DVD player,  coffee table, 3 section floor to ceiling window with centre door leading to private patio with table and chairs and single front door.
  • Bedroom 1 - Double bed, wardrobe chest of drawers, bedside tables, double French doors to patio. 
  • Bedroom 2 - Twin beds, wardrobe, chest of drawers, bedside table. 
  • Bathroom - Walk in fully tiled shower, toilet and washbasin, set in vanity unit.  

    • About the location

    Other places worthy of a visit and all within easy reach are the historic (some of which are medieval) towns of Revel, Lastours, Limoux and Castres. Heading towards the mountains to Andorra you have Mirepoix and Foix.

    The region offers many excellent and well known wines to choose from Corbiere, Minervois, La Clape, Fitou, Malpere, etc. There are plenty of opportunities for wine tasting. You can choose between the larger sophisticated Domaines or the wonderful family run "caves", some of which produce extremely good organic wines. 

    The region is famous for "Les châteaux du Pays Cathare" with its many castles, towns and villages dating back over 800 years!

    Carcassonne, a wonderful medieval walled city, which is surrounded by 52 towers is definitely worth a visit and is illuminated at night. There are many wonderful restaurants to tempt you at reasonable prices. Visit the many fascinating craft and antique shops. 

    The costal resort of Narbonne is 50mins away as is Toulouse with its international airport and excellent shopping facilities, architecture, history and art.
