Children's heaven with a huge play area and animals to feed!

Our attractive coastal cottages are situated on the very edge of the charming seaside village of Plougasnou in Finistère, to the east of Roscoff about 20 minutes from Morlaix.   We are 1 hour from Brest airport.

Kerdalidec, is an old Breton farmstead built of pink granite, on the very edge of the village and surrounded by fields of maize and artichokes, yet only 10 minutes walk from the local supermarket and boulangerie. A further 5 minutes walk brings you to the village square with cafes, bars and restaurants. The unspoilt sandy beach is 2 minutes drive or 35 minutes walk. Also in the village is a tourist information centre, medical centre, pharmacy, post office, bank, bookshop and gift shop.

All our cottages have Internet access.

The Longhouse (sleeps up to 14) and is the left-hand half of an old Breton longhouse - (the right-hand half is not for rent). It is about 200 years old and used to be the boulangerie for the local villagers. The Wellhouse is to the left and opposite the Longhouse and the Crèche is behind the Longhouse.

Ideal for winter lets with central heating and wood-burning stoves.

There is a large lawned area between the houses containing well-stocked flower beds and also a huge grassed area in which the children's play area is situated. Garden furniture, outdoor games and barbecue are available. We offer free baby minding.

• In the prize-winning garden there is a play area for children with climbing frame, swings and slide. There is also a sandpit. We have several friendly animals which children can feed.....3 sheep, a dwarf goat, rabbits and chickens. Lots have children have cried when they had to go home because they didn't want to leave the rabbits!

Ground Floor

• Huge open-plan kitchen/dining-area/lounge. The kitchen is very well-equipped with gas cooker, microwave and dish-washer and there is a large dining-table with seating for 14. The spacious and attractive open-beamed lounge is dominated by the huge original granite fireplace with wood-burning stove. 
• Utility room with toilet, basin, washing-machine and ironing facilities.

There are french-windows leading from the kitchen/dining-area out onto: 

• Patio with garden furniture for eating meals outside.

First Floor

• Bathroom with bath, sink and WC
• 3 bedrooms - one with 2 single beds, one with a double bed  and one with 2 sets of bunk beds and a single bed. The bunk room is fitted with dark curtains to improve your chances of a lie-in! 

The Attic

• 2 further bedrooms one with a double bed, cot and single bed and one with a double bed.
• Shower room with shower, sink and toilet.

The house is fully centrally heated and is ideal for Christmas and New Year breaks. Book early though! 

About the location

Situated 2 minutes drive from the unspoilt sandy beach, Plougasnou is a tranquil little market village, 40 minutes from Roscoff and 1 hour from Brest airport. The ancient church of St Pierre dominates the tree-lined village square in which a popular market is held every Tuesday morning. This area of Brittany is relatively undiscovered as yet and has a beautiful rugged coastline with lots of hidden sandy coves.

During July and August a musical concert takes place every Tuesday evening in the village square, featuring musicians from around the world. There are also numerous classical concerts which take place inside the church. Also, in Morlaix, a highly colourful free Arts festival takes place in July and August which consists of theatrical events around the streets of Morlaix.
