♦ 4 bedrooms, Sleeps 8
♦ Garden, Scenic views
Come and enjoy the tranquility of Normandy this Autumn and Winter. Renovated to a superb standard, whilst retaining their original character, these three delightful properties are a 'cour de ferme' which also includes the original bakehouse set in spacious gardens which include an apple orchard.
Our buildings have been designed to be let separately or to a group who want to holiday together whilst retaining a degree of independence. Boudet is a lovely place at which to spend Christmas or New Year and we provide Chrismas trees and decorations making it a home from home. As keen cooks ourselves we have ensured you have all the cooking equipment and crockery needed to cook and serve large feasts! If you love open log fires, comfy sofas, jigsaws and board games this is the property for you!
Boudet is set in approximately two acres of landscaped grounds with trees and shrubs, an apple orchard, a croquet lawn, pond and stream with a Japanese-style bridge over. It is in a rural setting with spectacular open views across fields of grazing cattle, apple orchards and farmland.
The local village, with all essential amenities, including a small supermarket is 2 km away. The historic towns of Domfront and Mortain (all facilities) are 12 km away. Boudet is moments away from a disused railway line now a cycle track which runs from Flers to Domfront and then onto Mont St Michel, a distance of 85k. It offers an excellent and safe opportunity to get about and explore the area safely. Do bring your bikes!
Our caretaker lives locally and is English.
Each property has gas central heating for year-round letting whilst The Barn and Farmhouse also have majestic open fires, lovely in winter!
'Your house is wonderful – what a gracious and beautiful atmosphere! We all had a wonderful time and looked forward to coming back home each evening to be welcomed by your house.'
UH, Alabama, USA, Farmhouse in July
'Initial reaction – wow! Incredible place - after spending a week - even better. Fantastic, comfortable, spacious, perfect setting for an incredible week. Thanks for the memories.'
GP, UK, Barn in September
'A great way to celebrate a 65th birthday! Great accommodation and gardens for toddlers to romp in. Can thoroughly recommend Bayeux for shopping and lunch, and the horse show at the national stud – Haras du Pin every Thursday ... little girls heaven. Thank you.'
CS, UK, Farmhouse in September
'Compliments to whoever renovated the property – wow!! Especially like the radiator in the lounge area! Had a fabulous week ..., ate wonderfully, recommend 'Moulin de Jean' for that special occasion. Although been to Mont St Michel on many occasions, fabulous time to see it off season – still magical! Thanks!'
CH, UK, Cider Press in December
'A brilliant conception and conversion. The detailing and workmanship is outstanding. The landscaping also adds greatly to the pleasure of staying here. Much enjoyed by all.'
M family, UK, Barn in April
This is a superb barn conversion built in local stone and colombage (half timbering) which has been lovingly decorated and furnished throughout in Shaker style. The décor is very impressive and this is certainly a good choice for those seeking a high degree of comfort and sophistication while appreciating rural France. Privacy is provided by exclusive use of the south-facing garden which has cider-apple trees and child's swing.
This area is famous for its cider, poire and Calvados - the apple and pear orchards are delightful in the spring. La Maison de la Pomme et la Poire, 2 kms away, has a collection of fruit trees and cider presses and offers tastings.
See Local guide and map for information on nearby towns and facilities.
1 ½ hour drive from ferries at Caen (Ouisterham) and St Malo, alternatively drive down from Cherbourg or Calais via Le Havre.

Boudet is by far the best holiday home we have ever stayed in and is somewhere we would love to continue to visit in many years to come.

We had a very peaceful and restful holiday at the Barn in Boudet, thank you. It is the perfect spot for relaxing and getting-away-from-it-all and is really well appointed - we loved it! I’ve no hesitation in recommending your properties...
One aspect which I really do think you should emphasise more in the details of the properties is their very close proximity to the Flers-Domfront veloroute or Voie Verte (the disused railway line cycle track) and the excellent opportunity this network offers for safe cycling (especially with children) as a great way to get about and explore the area.
