Quietly tucked away in a private cobbled courtyard in the centre of the delightful medieval town of Dinan this charming 'mews style' town cottage offers spacious and comfortable accommodation for 2 people plus the sole use of its private garage - quite a luxury in this popular town.

Just a few minutes walk each morning will ensure those fresh croissants and crusty baguette for your daily breakfast (not to mention mouthwatering pastries for teatime!). Charcuteries, epiceries, chocolatiers and all those other evocatively named shops are also just a few steps away  (you can just feel the pounds going on can't you but they can be walked off by tackling the rue Jerzual a few times!). And, as if  that  wasn't enough, the best wine shop in town is just next door!

Market day brings its own special treat when you can choose a selection of lcoal produce to bring back for a 'picnic' in the cottage.

The town has 60 or so restaurants, cafés and creperies - 5 of these are in the street just yards from the cottage.  

This is the perfect place for two people to escape to for a blissful week in Brittany.

• Large living room with UK satellite TV, DVD player, plenty of books, magazines, games, mini hi-fi system, maps and useful information on the area. 
• Dining area for 4 so you can invite friends for dinner.
• Corner kitchen fully equipped with all modern appliances - a large built-in fridge, built-in electric oven, gas hob with stainless steel extractor hood, microwave oven, dishwasher. 
• Pretty double bedroom is decorated in restful shades of pale blue and cream and there is:

There is a washing machine & tumble dryer for your use in the garage below.

About the location

All the treasures that Dinan has to offer - its ramparts, château, timber framed houses, art and craft galleries, restaurants, shops, weekly market and much, much more - are within easy walking distance. Just put the car in the garage and forget it for a week!

The medieval market town of Dinan is widely accepted as being the most beautiful in Brittany. You could be forgiven for thinking you were walking through a film set, and it is often used as such, but this is a vibrant town where people live and work all year round. It is as popular with French visitors as those from further afield, and, though busiest during July and August, is a thriving place throughout the year. There are plenty of shops to browse through in addition to the usual food shops such as boulangeries, charcuteries etc and also a popular weekly market. Restaurants, creperies and bars abound.

As well as the main town centre high above the river Rance, there is also the pretty, bustling port or harbour where yachts, motor launches, day boats and other river activities add to the holiday feel of the town. Here you will find more restaurants and shops lining the quayside. The port is linked to the town centre by a long, steep, cobbled street - the rue Jerzual - which is lined on both sides with more medieval timber framed and granite houses. Several have been turned into restaurants or craft shops.

There is so much to do in Dinan that it would be very easy to spend all your holiday there. If you want to roam further afield you will be spoilt for choice and the possibilities are too numerous to be listed here - from quaint little riverside or coastal fishing villages, gorgeous unspoilt seaside resorts, pretty inland villages to the capital city of Rennes or perhaps Mont St Michel.

Nowhere in Brittany are you far from the sea and the region is the seafood capital of France. Treat yourself to a dozen oysters at Cancale, famous for them - inexpensive and fresh as they come.
The wonderful sandy beaches and rocky headlands of the unspoilt north Brittany coast are within half an hour's drive. Mont St Michel is a little further and takes about an hour.

The simplest local activities are walking, cycling and exploring the town and riverside. The towpath is great for walks and bike rides. Also available are all the facilities you would expect from a reasonable sized town e.g. tennis, swimming, horseriding and kayaking on the river.

For golfers there are 7 excellent golf courses in the region, some coastal, some inland, none very far away.

Because of its prime situation at the heart of this beautiful town, Impasse des Clarisses is an ideal base at any time of the year. Centrally heated by gas, it is as comfortable for winter breaks as it is in the height of summer. Just leave your car in the garage and have a wonderful holiday!

How to get here

Dinan is easily accessed by road, rail, ferry or air.
The nearest airport is at Dinard, less than half an hour's drive. This is served by Ryanair from London Stansted.
The nearest ferry port is St Malo served by Brittany Ferries from Portsmouth or Condor Ferries from Weymouth. Cherbourg & Caen are shorter ferry crossings and are about 2 1/2 hours drive from Dinan. The Tunnel is about 5 hour's drive from Dinan.
