"Paradise"! say our tenants, "Magic"!  Imagine a holiday with a group of friends, or other families, where everyone can enjoy their independnce and also have fun spending time together.

Set in the Bandol wine area (famous for its rose), with easy access to sea and mountains, lies the perfect answer - l'Enclos de la Daby near le Beausset in Provence - the French home of an English family. Three houses, a tower and a cabanon are set apart from each other on five acres of terraced land, covered with thyme, rosemary and olive trees. Each house is independent with its own fully equipped kitchen and bathroom. Each has a shady terrace for sitting or dining. They can be rented individually or together. The swimming pool - shaded by olive trees and with a ping-pong table near-bye - provides a central area for sunbathing and relaxing.

La Daby is a mile from le Beausset, a little agricultural town, with a perfect square to enjoy a cup of coffee and a croissant under the shady plane trees. There is a good selection of shops and restaurants, two large supermarkets, a twice-weekly market that is excellent for local produce - fresh fish, fruit and vegetables, olives and cheeses.

We are always happy to discuss prices and your requirements.

"Beautiful location and wonderful setup - ideal for a group of friends such as us, who want a combination of independence and socialising! Thank you for all your help and support - a fantastic host!  Lovely days / afternoons out on the beach at les Leques and at le Castellet - and the local boulangerie comes with much recommendation!  Definatley planning a return trip as we write. Much thanks"                                              Lorna Griffiths (& friends!)  24 March 2008

Accommodation detail

Les Lavandes is the heart of the place and is nearest to the pool. When the houses are being used together people often eat and meet there.

It has a bedroom with a large double bed (which can be split into two). The living room has two built-in sofa beds on either side of the fireplace, which are used as sofas during the day out of season. There is a washing machine in the bathroom and a dishwasher in the kitchen. The terrace, with its shady pergola, has lovely views south toward le Beausset.

It is normally let with les Lavandes to provide an extra double bedroom  (perfect for teenagers!) with a washroom (shared with pool users)

About the location

The area round la Daby is an activity and relaxation paradise. There are enough attractions to keep a person seeking a fun-filled holiday completely occupied. At the other extreme there are beaches, the relaxing pool, beautiful landscape, and the great weather, food and wine of the region to encourage you to do nothing.

Food and Wine

Situated in the centre of the Bandol wine region, most vineyards offer wine tasting, including the most famous – Ott and Tempier. There are a large number of local restaurants with good food available at a whole range of prices. For those who want something different, both Toulon and Bandol contain restaurants offering excellent Asian and North African food.

Markets

Each town has a market at least once a week. The main market in le Beausset is on a Friday, with a smaller one on Sunday. It is worth visiting the hilltop villages of le Castellet and la Cadiere d'Azur with their magnificent views, craft shops, bars and restaurants.

Culture

There are frequent local concerts, fetes and entertainments. More serious cultural activities take place at Toulon, Aix en Provence, Arles, Nimes, Avignon and Orange. Apart from other attractions, you can visit le Corbusier's Unite d'Habitation in Marseille.

The Whole Year Round

Spring in Provence with butterflies, wild flowers, strong scent and gentle sun is sheer delight. In all – spring, summer, autumn, winter – whether riding in the mountains, tennis playing next door, rock climbing at Cassis, whale-watching off Bandol, eating delicious food, walking in the mountains, dancing at a village fete, or just sitting peacefully at home, this is a great area.

This part of Eastern Provence is a good place to stay right through the year. The houses have simple heating and open log fires, making them a fine base for walking or climbing, or just writing that book. For the active, wind surfing and surf boarding goes on all year round.
