About Roscanvel in Finistère, Brittany

Situated in Western Brittany, on the Pointe des Espagnols on the sought-after Crozon peninsula, 70 km south of Brest with its award-winning Ocean discovery park Océanopolis. The beautiful city of Quimper with its cathedral, narrow cobbled streets is well worth a visit. Also within easy reach of Douarnenez and Pointe du Raz, a dramatic place of crashing waves and strong winds, the most visited site in Brittany.

Quimper. 65 km. Beautiful riverside city with narrow cobbled streets, a Gothic cathedral and a host of lively bars and restaurants. Famous for its Breton faience pottery and Armor Lux clothes factory which collections are inspired by the colours of the sea and Breton values.
Brest. 70 km. Large seaport and naval base in a wide natural harbour, facing the Crozon peninsula. Renowned for its Oceanopolis aquarium. 3 golf courses.

Breizh Park, Crozon. 10 km. Tree top adventure park. Tree climbing. Paintball. Mini-golf. On the Crozon peninsula, between Brest and Quimper. 1 hectare dedicated to family fun.
Face Ouest, Roscanvel. 2 km. Climbing. Enjoy the magnificent natural setting of the Crozon Peninsula and discover or perfect your climbing. For an exciting day: via-corda, aqua-rope, ponting...!
Sailing/Diving club, Roscanvel harbourside. The sailing club based on the harbourside offers weekly courses in the Summer whilst the renowned diving club is available all year round to beginners and advanced divers alike.

FURTHER AFIELD:
Pointe du Raz. 85 km. Most famous headland in Brittany and beauty spot offering breath taking vistas over the Atlantic ocean. Celebrated by Flaubert and Victor Hugo, it attracts millions of visitors. A stunning place to be on a windy day!
Bénodet. 90 km. Charming and popular seaside resort and yachting centre with long and sheltered sandy beach. At the mouth of the Odet river, it can also be reached by boat from Quimper. The resort boasts a golf course, talassotherapy centre, casino and a good selection of restaurants.
Concarneau. 95 km. Fishing port with delightful fortified old city. Enjoy a stroll through the small town and don?t miss the famous Kouign Amann, a Breton cake full of butter and sugar. Very naughty but so delicious!
Pont Aven. 100 km. Artists? haunt situated inland from the tip of the Aven estuary. It is a small port popular with tourists and boasting many art galleries. Made famous by Gauguin when he came to paint in the 1880?s before leaving for Tahiti and inspired the Pont Aven school.
