The setting of Balazuc is truly spectacular as you approach the village through narrow, winding roads and then cross the single lane bridge spanning the river to enter the village which towers 159m above you.

Balazuc has a magnificent set of narrow and steep alleys "les calades" and arches supporting big stone houses. There is a 12th century watchtower and a 13th century  church with fabulous views across the river.

The village is very pretty indeed and within it you can find  restaurants, craft shops, an antique shop, gift shops  and cafes set by the river or with terraces overlooking the valley.  There is a beach area by the river and you may hire canoes to travel downriver to Ruoms and Vallon Pont D’Arc.
