Chambéry is a central skiing resort but it is also a wonderful location for hiking and walking in the summer months.

Ancient routes through the Dauphiné, Burgundy, Switzerland, and Italy crossed at the point where Chambéry was founded.  The town lies south of the Lac du Bourget which is the largest natural lake in France.

Chambéry has many interesting landmarks and monuments probably the most famous of which is the Fontaine des Éléphants (elephant fountain) which was built in 1838.

A wonderful resort for skiing and for all walking and hiking activities in the summer.
