Vinsobres (Drome)

Vinsobres is a nice little wine village in the vincinity of the Mont Ventoux. It is situated at the south side of a mountain and therefor an ideal place now and in the early times to look for shelter from the Mistral wind. Because of its location (300 m) the temperatures in summertime are not to high and in spring and autumn they are not to cold because of the absense of the cold Mistral wind. Around Vinsobres there are many vineyards wich produce the red Vinsobres. This red wine is classified as the first vintage of the Côtes du Rhône in the Drôme Provençal.
