Anduze (Gard)

Anduze occupies a stunning location on the Gardon river, where the Languedoc plain ends and the Cevennes national park starts.

It has lively markets, many shops and restaurants and an ancient clock tower which makes a fascinating centrepiece to the town.

Anduze is famous for the crafting of big pottery vases, such as those found in the gardens of the wealthy gentry of the area in the 16th century. They have a very distinctive pattern and shape.

Anduze is also well known for the Bambouseraie - a large park full of Bamboo. A nice cool place to visit in the height of the hot summer.

The weekly market is on Tuesdays.
