The area around Gex is a paradise for nature lovers and gourmets. The quality of life is exceptional and there is something for everyone, hiking, fishing, cycling, horse riding and culture.

In the winter Gex is a popular medium-altitude ski resort. It is conveniently close to the mountains and to Geneva.

Gex is world-renowned for its blue cheese made from cow's milk. The traditional cheese factory La Fromagerie de l'Abbaye which dates from the 13th century, is open for visits.

At the 'parc des cèdres' there are various activities for children and with walks along the river there are activities for both young and old.
