Angers is the 16th largest town in France, and is situated along the both banks of Maine River. The city is the capital of the historic province of Anjou and is considered as one of the most beautiful cities in France. The most notable buildings are the magnificent twin-spiraled Cathedral of Saint Maurice (12th-13th century) and  the massive Castle of Angers (early 13th century).

The castle has one of the top treasures in the region which is a tapestry of 101 metres describing the end of the time as it is said in the bible.

The cathedral is a magnificent twin-spiraled building.  A daily market is held each day in front of the cathedral.

In the 15th century Angers developped as an academic and commercial centre and the first printing press become available at approximately the same time. At this present time Angers is the 20th biggest city in France

In 1585 Herny III ordered for the castle to be demolished but this came to a pause when Henry IV became in leadership and it was restored in 1950. Cesar de Vendome and Francoise of Lorraine became engaged.

A lively atmosphere awaits you here at this pretty and friendly town with its cobblestone streets.
