Villedieu Les Poeles is historic town which was created by the the craft of copper making in the middle ages. Today it has a number of ancient courtyards and cobbled alleyways and Church Bells are still produced here.

Villedieu Les Poeles is traditionally a centre of metal-work, especially the brass and copper pans and basins from which the poêles in its name derives. It is also famous for its artisanal manufacture of large church bells, which was started by immigrants from Lorraine around 1780.
In the bell foundry in rue du Pont Chignon, you can see traditional craftsmen working alongside modern technical expertise to produce bells which are exported all over the world.
In the house of Pewter at 15, rue du général Huard you can see see pewter in production as well it's history.
8Km from Villedieu is Champrepus Zoo which has been established for 50 years
