Gravieres is a small commune of stone houses set on the right bank of the Chassezac, close to Les Vans on the road to Thines. The hamlet contains a church dating from 11th century, a roman bridge and the stations of the cross plus a bar and pizza restaurant.
Gravieres is a good place to start the ascent Of the Serre de Barre (960m).
If you approach Gravieres from Les Vans via Chambonas along the valley of the Chassezac you arrive at the Pont de Nassier, a popular bathing spot. With small pools, gentle rapids and a large basin of water for swimming, a bridge and platform to jump from, it is an ideal place for families.
