The market town of Hesdin is a pretty town with ancient houses, narrow cobbled streets and historic monuments. Built on the banks of the River Canche, many of the buildings date back to the 16th century when the town was originally founded.
Hesdin has two supermarkets and a range of shops, boutiques, restaurants and pavement cafés. Its weekly market (every Thursday morning) is a delight. Also in the town square throughout the summer months many exhibitions and events take place.

Hesdin is the one of the main towns in the area of the 7 Valleys. Each of the valleys has its own beauty with many villages carrying awards for their floral displays.
