Licques is a small town located half way through Calais and Boulogne which holds a famous Christmas market with a Turkey Parade in December.

Licques is a small town situated between Calais and Boulogne, in the Trois Pays area of Nord-Pas-de-Calais region.
Licques is famous for its annual Turkey Festival (Fête de la Dinde) taking place just before Christmas on the second Saturday of every December. This involves hundreds of birds running through the town with a competition for the best bird. The Turkeys are prized for their moistness and flavour.
There is also a food market (Marche de Terroir) with regional products running throughout the weekend where visitors can taste the local liqueur, the Licquoise.

Ferry: Calais is the nearest port. Car: A16/E40, towards Boulogne sur Mer, will take you to Licques (about 25 km). |
