A beautiful and well preserved mediaeval spa town centred around the river that flows through the centre.

A full range of shops and services enhanced by a weekly market and occasional specialist markets. A number of annual fetes take place, especially the famous Salt festival in early September.

The famous spa offers a variety of health and leisure regimes. There is a sports and leisure centre in the town with swimming pool, tennis and squash.

The region is close to the famous fishing rivers of the region. Ski slopes are approximately 1 hour away and the same for a range of beautiful beaches.

The town is easily accessed by autoroute and the main line railway stops close by.
