The town of Tarbes appears to be among the oldest towns of the south west. Since as far back as the Middles Ages, the town has been surrounded by high mountains and wild nature, ensuring its prestige well beyond the area as far as the national borders.
Being at the doors to the National park of the Pyrenees and just 30 minutes to skiing resorts, Tarbes offers a great number of activities, leisure and discoveries which will give you only one desire - to return!
Tarbes also enjoys a microclimate enabling palm trees to grow in the town centre. Its shopping streets, markets full of local products (including its famous 'Haricot Tarbais' beans) as well as its green open spaces (Jardin Massey in particular) make this a particularly pleasant place to stay.
