Fenouillet (Pyrénées-Orientales)
Fenouillet is a village made up of a number of small hamlets. La Vilasse is the main hamlet and it has a stunning location overlooked by two ruined Cathar chateaux, the larger chateau St Pierre de Fenouillet is gradually being reclaimed by archaeologists.

The surrounding area is completely unspoilt and is an ideal location for people who want a quiet, relaxing holiday or for the more active and adventurous holidaymaker there are gorges, rivers, forests and mountains with plenty of wild boar which can be seen at night. This is a bird watchers paradise.
Ten minutes away is the Castel Fitzel Activity centre, swimming pool and restaurant. Activities nearby include canoeing, canyoning, cycling, horse riding, walking, climbing and white water rafting.
