A producer of Brie de Melun , the town is situated on both banks of the Seine with many interesting monuments and buildings. The ancient church of Notre-Dame is on an island between two branches of the river.
Being on the Seine the town is very picturesque and in addition the Almont flows into the Seine at this point.
