Fontiers Cabardes is is a charming medieval village in the Aude department in the Languedoc Roussillon region of France. It was founded in 1203. The village once had a chateau but only a tower remains now, Pierre-Paul Riquet the creator of the canal du Midi lived there in the 16 hundreds. There a friendly bar/restaurant 'club 620' with regular music evenings. In the centre there is an open green with a children’s play area and in July they hold a jazz festival. It is near the forest of La Loubatieres one of the most beautiful in France with many walks. The village has several sites of historic interest the Church the tower and 3 fountains.
