Blangy Le Chateau is a delightful village, situated between Pont L'Eveque and Lisieux (10mn away, using superb roads). It sits in panoramic settings and life there is good and easygoing. Water plays an important part, as there are two drinking fountains from a source (natural stream), and clear running little streams have been built in the High Street.

The village was built in the middle of seven hills, like the city of Rome, so the surroundings are strikingly beautiful. Its timbered houses, some dating from the 16th century, are strikingly beautiful and full of charm.Located in the valley of the river of the Chaussey, It has been respected by decennies of urbanisation and has kept its original beauty and style.

There are numerous historical sites in Blangy such as:

The Inn of the Audacious Cockerel (16th century) a former post relay, which is one of the oldest houses in the village.

The Communal wash house (19th century) was the place where the Castleblangeoises (women from the village) rinsed and beat their linen.

The Church of Our Lady, was built in the 15th century. Inside you will find some very nice stained glass windows.

The Medieval Clod and the relics of the chateau (11th century). Only a section of a wall of the dungeon can been seen today. The remains, only in stones, were destroyed during the bombardments from the Mount Broult by our neighbours, The Englishmen, during the 100 years war.

The Manor (17th century) located at the bottom of the village belonged to a Viscount, a family belonging to the lords of Blangy. The gables of this manor are characterized by some drawings of black bricks in diamond-shapes. Today it is a private property.
