St Jean d'Angely is a town in the Charente-Maritime department of Poitou Charentes in the south-west of France.

St Jean d'Angely is an attractive old town with cobbled streets and medieval buildings. The unfinished, twin towers of the Abbey Royale make a striking landmark when approaching the town from the north. It has a typically French Market on Saturdays and Wednesdays along with many bars, cafes and restuarants. There is a complete assortment of shops, banks etc. and on the outskirts are two major supermarkets and commercial areas.
There is a park with large boating lake, adventure playground, cafe and beautiful riverside walks and beside this is the superb swimming pool and fitness centre with slides, sauna, jacuzzi etc.
St Jean d'Angely is a major town on the route to Santiago di Compostella.
