French City Breaks in June
If you'd rather experience the hustle and bustle of the city, then consider a long weekend city break in France. As the weather is warm but not stifling, French cities can be comfortable to visit and still look great. For a city break full of culture and history, try Rouen in north-western France; this historical capital city of Normandy on the River Seine is famed for its medieval cobbled streets and antique shops, and boasts an astronomical clock, museums, and a botanical garden. If shopping is more your style, consider Strasbourg - it’s location as a French city right on the border of Germany means you’ll have a huge variety to choose from.
Of course, a city break and a beach holiday aren’t necessarily mutually exclusive. Nice for example, the fifth biggest city in France, lies in the South and has a very Mediterranean feel. You’ll be able to soak up the sun during the day and go out to experience the buzzing nightlife in the evening.
