Events and Festivals
The Festival du Boudin (Black Pudding Fair) is over 50 years old and is held annually in Mortagne au Perche in the Orne department of Normandy. Over 100 exhibitors, traders, artisans and butchers make up this event, with more that five kilometres of black pudding being sold. Close by is the town of Camembert, home of the cheese, so a potential feast here for foodies!
Paris, city of lovers, is not only excellent value this month, you’ll also find a wealth of events, exhibitions and concerts in the city. The Paris half-marathon runs on 4th March and from the 5th to 18th you'll find the annual Poets Springtime festival, as the capital goes mad for poetry.
In ski resorts there are still firework displays, concerts, ice festivals and more to be enjoyed.
In the south of France, Nice Carnival is in full flamboyant swing until 4th March, with its vivid processions of floats, dancers and musicians sashaying down the Promenade des Anglais.
