Aix-en-Baroque (Baroque Music Festival) - Aix-en-Provence

The city of Aix-en-Provence organises this annual feast of Baroque music, performed by the Ensemble of the Festes d'Orphée.

It was created in 1986 by Guy Laurent, and the main objective was the rediscovering and diffusion of the musical heritage of the baroque provence. The ensemble is devoted to the recreation of the Baroque musical heritage.

In order to be able to interpret the principal repertoire of 17th and 18th-century music. i.e. choir, vocal and instrumental soloists, Baroque orchestra and more, the group (which includes 35 choir members passionate about Baroque) also recruits professionals from all over Europe.
