The Abbey of Boscodon was founded in 1132. It is a remarkable monument of the XII° century and is located within a very beautiful framework of mountain, 1150m in height.

It was the largest abbey of the area and the principal house of the Monastic order of Chalais. Called by the Lord Guillaume de Montmirail, owner of the territory of Boscodon, the monks of Chalais arrived in 1142. They started with the construction of the abbey church, which lasted 32 years, and built then the buildings of the monastery, quadrilateral surrounding the cloister.

Visitors are welcome to attend the prayer sessions.

The abbey is situated at 1150m of altitude and is surrounding by mountains.

The abbey is opened to the public everyday from 8.30am to 6.30pm
