Oradour sur Glane
A few kilometres north of Limoges is the village of Oradour sur Glane, totally destroyed by the Nazi’s in the Second World War, 642 men, woman and children massacred by a German Panzer Division.

Walking around the centre is a unique and humbling experience. In 1999 the Oradour memorial center was opened by the French president Jacques Chirac and the French minister of culture Catherine Trautmann.
The village has been left exactly as it was on the day of the massacre down to a rusting car in the street.
