Chateau de Sully was the birthplace of the monarchist Field Marshal, Patrice MacMahon, duc de Magenta, who was President of the French Third Republic from 1873 to 1879.

The Chateau is still a private Residence in which the Duke and the Duchess of Magenta, descendants of the Dukes of Burgundy live.

Guided tours of part of the castle can be undertaken.
