The old town of Le Mans is quite vast, with a myriad of crooked buildings, cobbled streets, stepped alleyways and over a hundred mainly fifteenth century half timbered houses, all beautifully restored.

It has served as a stage set for many films, including the Three Muskateers and the Man in the Iron Mask.
