Mimosa Cottage and Mimosa Lodge are set in 2.5 acres of land and landscaped gardens, with beautiful surrounding countryside and stunning views overlooking St Jean. Set in the small hamlet of Kervenez, both cottages exude typical Breton character with attractive features such as beautiful Breton fireplaces with log burning stoves, and old oak beams.

Approximately 3 km from the nearest village, Langonnet, has a bakery, butcher, bar/tabac, general store, chemists, restaurant/creperie, bank, post office and a small restored 12th century Norman church. Within 10 minutes drive you will find the market towns of Le Faouet and Gourin, which boast their own weekly markets, providing a greater array of facilities including supermarkets, hairdressers, and a larger selection of restaurants and cafés.

The cottages are well located for walking and off-road cycling, with back road routes available direct from the property itself. There is the opportunity for water sports (and further walking and cycling) at the nearby lake in Priziac. The historic towns of Quimper and Concarneau are only a 45 minute drive from the property, as are the renowned beautiful sandy beaches of the Southern coastline.

The layout is as follows:

Ground Floor:

• Kitchen & Dining Area – well equipped kitchen with gas cooker, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, kettle, and toaster. Table and chairs
• Bathroom 1 – comprising bath with shower, basin and WC
• Lounge Area – Breton fireplace with log burning stove, TV  with satellite (receiving UK free view channels) DVD player, radio/CD player
• Utility Room – housing washing machine, with separate downstairs WC and basin

First Floor:

• Master Bedroom – (which can be either double or twin) with wardrobe/drawer unit and cot.
• Bedroom 2 – twin room with chest of drawers unit and wardrobe
• Bedroom 3 – single room with wardrobe (including drawer unit)
• Bedroom 4 – standard double room with chest of drawers unit and wardrobe
• Bedroom 5 – twin room with chest of drawers unit and wardrobe
• Bathroom 2 – comprising shower, basin and WC

There is a single folding bed available on request, for a tenth person.

Mimosa Lodge has central heating making it ideal for Low Season bookings e.g. Christmas and/or New Year.

Outside:

Each cottage has its own private garden area in addition to the paddock with boules pitch, and a 4 metre splash pool.  We have plenty of private parking for all our guests.

About the location

The cottage is well situated with easy access to many historic towns such as Pont Aven (which has its own painting school), Quimperle, Concarneau and Quimper. The coastal towns of Benodet, and Guidel are also within easy reach. Lorient, (a 30 minute drive away), has a retail park with hypermarket, and large stores offering everything from furniture and clothes to art and craft supplies.

Car hire is a must as the property is 2.5 hours drive from Dinard airport, 1 hour from Brest and 40 mins from Lorient. Trains run from Paris into Carhaix Plougeur, 30 minutes drive away.
