Located between Brantome and Angouleme, this delightful farmhouse has been converted into two separate cottages, with shared use of a good sized swimming pool (10m x 5m). The property is situated close to a tiny hamlet, just outside the village of La Rochebeaucourt, in lovely rolling countryside with no passing traffic.

The present owners purchased the property in March 1998 and have re-decorated and re-furnished the cottages and landscaped the garden.

Apart from the pool and barbecue areas, there is a games room in an old barn to the rear, with table tennis, snooker/pool table, table football and darts. A range of bicycles in another outbuilding is provided for your use, to roam the surrounding countryside.

The larger cottage - L'Hermitage - has three bedrooms, sleeping up to 8.

• Kitchen -  fitted, with a gas cooker, fridge, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave
• Living / dining room
• Bathroom - with newly-fitted shower
• Two double bedrooms
• Bedroom - with 4 bunk beds, also an additional cot.

Each bedroom is accessed off the others (non-family guests please note).

Outside

There are terrace and patio areas with barbecues and and eight sun loungers.

The cottage has a gas bottle heater and electric radiator, should the weather be chilly.

About the location

The unspoilt northern Dordogne has much to offer, lying between the Bordeaux wine growing areas to the West, the excellent fishing lakes of the Limousin to the northeast and the better known tourist areas just to the South, in this beautiful region of France.

There are numerous interesting and historic places to visit, including Chateaux and prehistoric caves. Its proximity to the Charente means that it shares that region's superb climate (reputedly the best in France for sunshine hours). This is of course the area of France most noted for its gastronomy and there are superb restaurants and friendly bars within a short drive of the property.
