The property is situated 3kms from the town of St Martin des Besaces, in Normandy France. The town has a small supermarket, restaurant, bakers, butchers etc, on Saturdays they have a market in the square. The cottage is at the end of a pretty lane in tranquil countryside with beautiful views down the valley. Ideal for a relaxing holiday.

The property comprises of two holiday rentals:

• "La Fermette" is a a three bedroomed 17th century converted stone farm building sleeping 6-8 adults plus all facilities if needed for a baby.
• "Le Petit Manoir" is a converted stone farm building, adjoining "La Fermette". It is possible to rent both properties for larger groups of up to 20 people on request.

For both properties bed linen, duvets, pillows, towels and tea towels are provided. Each property has electric central heating (a charge of £20 per week should be added for winter months).

Swimming Pool above ground is available.

Downstairs

• Lounge - there is a large open fireplace, two 4 seater settees and other furniture. TV, DVD player and Video.
• Kitchen - is on the same lines as "La Fermette". The dining area has a large farmhouse table seating 12 people.
• Bedroom 1 - can accommodate a wheelchair.
• Bathroom - next to it is equipped with facilities for the disabled.

Upstairs

• Bedrooms 2 - 5 - one with a four poster bed and ensuite, one double and two smaller double bedrooms with adult size bunk beds. A single bed and/or a cot can be added to any of the larger double bedrooms, to accommodate a maximum of 12 people.
• Family bathroom fitted with toilet, hand basin and bath with shower. Cots and extra beds can be provided on request.

About the location

There are numerous places to visit in the area. Bayeux, for the tapestry and cathedral. Also one of the most impressive British and Commonwealth War Memorials and Cemeteries. There is a market on Wednesday and Saturday. Not far from Bayeux are the D-Day landing beaches, Arromanches with it's Mulberry harbour and great views from the cliff tops. The museum and circular cinema are close by. The whole coastline is steeped in history. Beautiful safe sandy beaches stretch for miles. Many good restaurants serving a variety of meals, seafood is excellent in this area.

Caen, with it's Abbey, gardens, shops, restaurants and markets, there is always something for everyone. Nearby at Carpiquet is Festyland, an amusement/adventure park for children.

Vire, is a charming market town, a mixture of old and new architecture. Nearby is the Valley de la Souleuvre where there is one of the largest Bungy jumps in the world for those who dare, also an aerial slide, adventure park for adults and children and a Go kart track. Jurques, a zoological park with an adventure playground. Champrepus, another very popular Zoo, great for children. Mont St Michel, a legendary site on the Brittany coast that never fails to stir the imagination with it's splendid aura. Don't forget your camera!
