La Fontaine is close to Valbonne, Opio, Châteauneuf and Le Rouret, all with local shops and restaurants.

Gourdon, high above, is well worth a visit for the fantastic view and scenery.

Grasse the perfume capital of the Côte d'Azur is close by, as is Valbonne, a busy medieval town with a myriad of little streets around a large central square with many restaurants, art galleries, antique shops and a buzzing Friday market.

Mougins, the gastronomic centre of the South of France, is a 15 mins. drive and to quote from the Cadogan Guide to the South of France, There are so many good restaurants that you hardly dare go out for a walk!

For beaches and the hustle and bustle of the coast, Cannes, Antibes, La Napoule, Juan les Pins and Théoule are all within a 30-40 mins. drive.
