Roussillon Farmhouse and Mas D’en Porte have been in our family for the past 30 years. So popular are our properties and the region we bought the two adjoining cottages, Des Alberes and Canigou. All have been recently renovated and transformed to boutique hotel standards.

Cottage Canigou is a recently renovated and modernised stone Roussillon Cottage comprising 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms to sleep 5/6 + cot, and benefits from a shared garden and swimming pool (9m x 6m). Accommodation comprises:

Available for rental separately or rent both cottages together; ideal for 2 families or a larger group of up to 12 people (or up to 32 / 36 people - see below); each property having their own privacy & facilities, whilst sharing the 500m2 garden and swimming pool. Private patio / BBQ area for each cottage.
Alternatively, these two cottages can be rented in combination with RoussillonFarmhouse (sleeps 10) and / or Mas D’en Porte (sleeps 10) to accommodate to 32 / 36 people, including 3 separate swimming pools, set in a total of almost 2-acres of private gardens.
We can offer short breaks (minimum 2 nights) and or winter lets as Cottage Canigou is insulated and equipped with electric heating. A local English housekeeper is available to provide assistance, if required.
Our properties are ideally located within a short 5mins walk to the village centre of Villelongue dels Monts, with boulangerie, shop, choice of three restaurants, a bar and just 15mins by car to the Mediterranean beach of Argeles Sur Mer.

How to get to Cottage Canigou
If you are planning to fly and hire a car, then we would recommend Girona / Spain, which is 60 minutes by car, with several flights a day from most regional airports with Ryanair. In addition, the airports of Perpignan (25 minutes), Carcassonne (1 hour 40 minutes) and Barcelona (2 hours) are all convenient too. Alternatively, the nearest TGV station is Perpignan (25mins), with a local train station at Argelès-Ville. We will be pleased to provide travel tips and recommend car hire etc.
We are located just 10mins from the Autoroute exit at Le Boulou, the last junction in France, before heading into Spain.

We had a two week stay in France and were looking for something relaxed and "French" for our first week with our 6 and 4 year old. This cottage fit the bill perfectly as we could relax as a family before heading off to a busier place afterwards. The cottage was lovely with a quirky layout. Obviously it''s not a new build so don''t expect that. Good showers and washing facilities, Very clean, plus plenty of cooking utensils and good oven and hob. Also nice touch having a coal bbq on site too. Pool is shared with next door but is a great size and was very clean. Local village a mere 5 min stroll with a couple of restaurants and a small shop and sports bar. Went to both restaurants with our two kids and were well received by friendly locals . My top tip is the burgers at L''Axurit although the evening ambience at bodega 66 was also great.

We like the area very much, especially the weather which is so much nicer down here in the South during the winter. It is very picturesque here with the backdrop of the Pyrenees and being so close to the coast and the Spanish border is also a big plus. The village is also very peaceful and quiet which I’m sure future guests will enjoy too. We have also noticed that the locals here are very friendly, which is also very nice too.

Our stay at the Cottage des Alberes was amazing! The property has a stunning location with spectacular views of the mountains and the ocean. The house itself is very spacious and has a high standard. We are incredibly happy to have stayed here during the autumn/winter. The property managers was super helpful with any inquiries we had. With very fast on-the-day support with anything we needed. Best we experience we have had so far with any rental property! We are very grateful for this. If we could give a star review we would give this a 5 out of 5 stars! Highly recommended for a southern France stay with close access to many amazing and famous sites.

We are back in Norway after a very pleasant stay. We were content with your houses and everything worked well with us and the small baby. We are too busy to go abroad next year, but the year after we take contact. (June 2014)
