This property composed of a main house and an annex, has been a very successful gite for less than 10 years, so is still in very good condition. If you like old stones and all the charm of 500 years of history, this village cottage should be of interest. It was renovated with respect for its age and local traditions and therefore retains all the wonderful details which we fell for originally: oak beams, whitewashed walls, red tiled floors, large stone fireplaces and a garden and large South/West facing terrace.
The village of Charroux is a member of the select club of “One of the most beautiful villages in France”, and properties here are becoming harder and harder to come by, especially renovated ones. It is located in the Allier (03), part of the Auvergne region and is only 10 minutes from the A71 motorway, and thus 3.5 hours from Paris and 6 hours from Calais.
