St Jean De Cole (Dordogne)
Saint Jean de Cole is an attractive village sat on the banks of the Cole River in the north-east corner of the Dordogne department. It is officially designated as one of the 51 most beautiful villages in France.
Built in the 12th century on the banks of the river Cole, St Jean De Cole is located at the junction of five valleys, between the Limousin and Perigord regions.
The 12th century (rebuilt in the 15th century) Chateau de la Marthonie stands in the heart of this small village, Un des plus beaux villages de France.
