The ancient village of Puycelsi is just a few minutes from the spectacular Averyon Georges.

PuycelciPuycelci Puycelsi is just a few minutes from the spectacular Averyon Georges. Set on a hill above the Vere valley and surrounded by 850 metres of ramparts it is in the heart of Cathar country.

The village has wonderful views over the forest of la Grésigne which is the biggest oak forest in the South of France.

Dating from before the year 1000 the village was founded by monks from Aurillic abbey. Many houses in the village date from the 15th Century and the church which has a listed 17yh century alterpeice dates from the 14th century.
