Find Holiday accommodation in France

The lucky winner of our latest competition will be hopping across to Brittany for a spring or autumn week next year. The destination is Le Pressoir, one of four exquisite and beautifully appointed thatched cottages at La Garenne in Languidic, Morbihan. These 200 year old ‘chocolate box’ cottages are among the most beautiful in Brittany.

This tranquil retreat just oozes traditional charm alongside all modern comforts. The cottages are set in a peaceful wooded valley sloping down to the gently meandering River Blavet. There’s a gate from the garden to the towpath beside the river, so visitors can wander along the water's edge, stopping at bars, cafés and restaurants every few kilometres as they go.

Those who want to chill out can simply relax in the spacious grounds soaking up the breath taking views and, for those energetic moments, table tennis, badminton and boules are available. Sounds like the perfect combination!

Once the home of a press for Breton cider, Le Pressoir is now a cosy and romantic holiday hideaway with its own pretty garden.  On the ground floor is a spacious beamed lounge with wood burning stove (all logs supplied), a dining area and a large fitted kitchen with microwave, freezer and dishwasher. Upstairs is a galleried mezzanine double bedroom, a twin room and a bathroom with bath and power shower

I love the Morbihan region for its sunny micro-climate and remember sun bathing on a peaceful sandy beach one April day, then gathering oyster shells. Later that evening I relished eating these tasty critters as, of course, oysters and crepes are among the local food specialities. There are several sandy beaches are within a half-hour drive of Le Pressoir and also well worth seeing are the amazing megalithic standing stones at Carnac and the markets in nearby picturesque towns.

Our competition is in conjunction with FrenchEntree Magazine. The prize is for two people and travel is not included. You can see full details, including dates, in the latest issue of the magazine or enter online.
