Picturesque Saint-Suliac, on the banks of the river Rance, is one of the few truly maritime villages on the estuary between Saint-Malo and Dinan in Brittany. The village is situated around its church and its harbour and has a multitude of little streets and alleys to explore.

In the past its fishermen left to fish for cod off the coasts of Newfoundland watched over by the statue of Virgin de Grainfollet. The statue and its small chapel still watch over the village from above and the climb up to it is rewarded with panoramic views of the estuary.

There is a festival during the first weekend in August each year in which the the whole village is dressed up to look like it was 100 years ago and many of the village's inhabitants dress up in clothes of that period.
