  • 'Perfect conditions' for buying in France

The French Property Exhibition takes place at Olympia, London, on 18-20 September. Among its organisers are our friends at French Property News magazine, where you can see major features every month about French Connections properties and owners.

Are you dreaming of buying in France? The organisers point out that now could be the ideal time to make the dream a reality. A weak euro combined with the low mortgage rates that are still available in France has contributed to the creation of ‘perfect conditions’ for buying a property across the Channel. The euro exchange rate recently hit a seven-year high, while French mortgage rates have dropped to new all-time lows.

The exhibition brings together estate agents and experts from the legal, financial, currency exchange and removals worlds, with informative seminars on tax, pensions, the buying process and much more.

But you don’t have to wait until then to start your research and property hunting – our Property for Sale pages where you can search for an abundance of properties for sale across France for all budgets and browse fantastic guides full of useful advice for buyers and sellers.

  • Grab a bargain long winter let in France

France is not only for holidays! A number of our owners offer long winter lets at their properties with rental by the month at very favourable rates.

Long winter lets can run from one month right up to six months. Most property owners offer lets from November up to late February or March, depending partly on the region and local weather.

Maybe you fancy escaping the British winter and are drawn to southern regions of France where temperatures are generally higher and there is more light and sunshine. Or perhaps you want to get away for a sabbatical and do that writing, photography or meditation you’ve been promising yourself.

If you’re thinking of buying in France, a winter rental is a great way to be on the spot for viewing properties when they come on the market, get to know the region and way of life and improve your spoken French.

Families thinking of emigrating often want to do the very sensible thing of ‘try before you buy’. Many even put their children into French schools for a while and really get a true taste of the lifestyle.

Our ‘Long Winter Lets’ pages list a range of attractive properties whose owners offer this service. Most invite you to get in touch to discuss rates, so use their weekly rental quoted as simply a guide to where they sit in the market. If the Provencale apartments in our photo have started you dreaming, why not check out our long winter lets right now?

  • Major features about French Connections owners in the latest top magazines

Lots of magazine coverage for our owners this month at the start of the tourist season - and in publications featured and promoted at the France Show from 23rd January at Olympia.

The January issue of Living France includes a three-page article entitled Heaven on Earth. Starting on page 28, it tells the story of Tony Spit and Bernard Balet, who bought a gorgeous but run-down 18th to 19th century Provencal Mas. The couple have lovingly restored the property to create three gites with a peaceful garden and swimming pool, where they now enjoy hosting visitors and soaking up the culture and landscape of southern France.

  • See two of our owners’ stories in March French Property News magazine

A lovingly converted stone farmhouse for sale in Lot-et-Garonne and a beautiful house for rent on the trendy Ile de Ré. The story of the owners of both these gorgeous French Connections properties are featured in the latest issue of French Property News in two separate major articles.
