Clairac (Lot-et-Garonne)
Clairac is an extremely attractive large village or small town on the banks of the River Lot with a small sandy beach for excellent river swimming - with bar restaurant overlooking the river. Clairac also has some superb examples of the very old Toulouse brick buildings, some going back to 14th century and an very old Abbey with adjoinng ancient church with superb stained glass windows.
Clairac also has excellent restaurants of highest quality, and a fantastic low priced creperie. It is well worth exploring the back streets, some old cobbled lanes leading down to the river quayside.
