Grand Brassac (Dordogne)
Grand Brassac is a pretty village, in the Dordogne department in Aquitaine in SW France.
Grand Brassac is little changed over the centuries. Close packed stone houses lining just a few tiny streets, it is built on the hillside; the hilltops around offer a grand view of the entire village from above; a vista of red-tiled roofs and mellow stone dominated by the church.
It has a bar/tabac and boulangerie and one of the finest examples of Romanesque churches in the area. Less than 500 inhabitants spread over a huge area of countryside, this is a farming community village which epitomises the tranquil and slow pace of life.
