Holiday Village Set in Acres of Beautiful Grounds
This delightful holiday village is set in several acres of country gardens in the heart of the island between Saint Gilles and Chéray with swimming pool, tennis and boules, close to sandy beaches.
There are four style Gîtes, either independent or semi-detached villas, with a private terraces, garden furniture and a barbecue, fauteuils,WIFI.
3 gîtes, each sleeping 3/5 people.
They have:
- A living room with a sofa bed and dining area.
- An equipped kitchenette
- A bedroom with a double and a single bed.
- A bathroom with shower, washbasin and WC.
Additional Information
At the heart, Ile d'Oléron is part of the Charente Maritime on the Atlantic coast and is connected to the mainland by a three kilometre bridge. Known locally as La Lumineuse because of its warm, sunny microclimate, it is the biggest of the islands along the west coast, surrounded by 80 kms of coast and beautiful sandy beaches.

Here, we have the swimming pool and a tennis court, table tennis, mini-golf, volley ball and a games area for children. We are within reach of all the beaches on the island, some of which have good windsurfing and in places, jet-ski bases.
Cycling is a wonderful way to explore the island (bicycles can be hired). Two kms from here are riding stables where you can hire horses and there is a 9-hole golf course 7 kms away. Children love the aquarium of La Cotinière and the wildlife park full of beavers and birds at Dolus. There is an ornithological reserve at St Denis and the beehives and honey at Saint Gilles are worth a stop. There are several châteaux forts and villages and ferry trips can be taken to the other islands around us.
Oléron has lots of good small restaurants, all reasonably priced. There are markets in every village every day, and all essential shops are within reach. There are large oyster beds around the island so you can enjoy oysters and excellent fresh fish with a glass of pineau, a cognac based wine from the Charentes.
