Just stayed here for a family wedding - our group was 6 adults and a 5 year old. Location ideal for a 5 minute walk into the lovely town of Uzes. Internally plenty of space decorated in the traditional French way and spotlessly clean. Outdoor area was great for relaxing and entertaining. Pool very clean and just the right size and temperature for us to enjoy. Maggie provided great communication and information links from the booking to the end of our stay. If we visit Uzes in the future we would be very happy to stay here again.Guest rating:
The house is very well situated, within 5 minutes walk of the centre. The accommodation is spacious, extremely well equipped (there's even a good office space with desk and storage), and enhanced by lots of artworks. The garden is secluded, well-planned, with plenty of informal seating, shade, and a wonderful outside eating space. The pool is a good size, although unheated which can make it a little bracing outside peak season. It's all carefully maintained, comfortable, secure, and a great place to be. Marie, who is the local contact was helpful, friendly, and great to deal with. Uzes itself is a delightful, restored, medieval town, and there's lots to see and visit within easy travelling distance. We had a very good time and would certainly use this property again.Guest rating:
I just wanted to let you know we had a lovely time in Uzès, and we all really enjoyed the house and the swimming pool - it came in very handy on the hot days!
I’m sure we’ll be in touch during the autumn as our minds turn towards next year.Guest rating:
Well from start to finish we felt comfortable talking to Maggie and the information she gave us about the area ECT was invaluable . The villa itself was fantastic such a stunning place and the surrounding area and town centre was just as nice. We originally booked for 7 days but once we were there we quickly realised that we didn't want to leave thus leading to an extra 3 days stay. We cannot wait to go back there for our next visit.Guest rating:
Les Palmiers is a lovely house in a perfect location in Uzes which is a fantastic town.
The private pool is large and the secluded garden had plenty of space for 7 to relax outside in comfort. The house itself is charming and well equipped, with plenty of space for the 7 of us.
The walk into town is 5 minutes, and the town is just right; big enough for lots of lovely restaurants, bars and boulangeries, and small enough to be 15mins walk from end to end.
We have no hesitation in recommending this property in this town. A fantastic holiday
Guest rating:
The house is located just outside the center of Uzès. In 10 minutes you can reach Place aux Herbes on foot! What a luxury, to go out to the city centre at night and not have to drive.
Once behind the entrance door in the wall, you come in into a real southern garden: palmtrees, swimmingpool, terraces and tranquility.
We enjoyed our stay very much and probably will come back in 2017.
Guest rating:
We stayed in this lovely house for eight weeks to celebrate our. 50th anniversary. We had friends and family come to stay over that period. We found the house to be very accommodating and well equipped. The yard and pool very welcoming, We spent many hours there. Our children especially enjoyed the pool during the warm weather. The town of Uzes was as nice as any French town we have been to and the markets were wonderful. We found Maggie and Marie very helpful with any problem that occurred. We will never forget our time here in Uzes.
Guest rating:
We were delighted with our choice of Les Palmiers as a group of three couples holidaying in early September. The pictures simply don’t do the house or grounds justice.
Maggie’s information pack sent beforehand was extremely useful and Marie, the maid was very accommodating and also tolerant of our limited French.
The house is located on a road which was busy at peak times however its close proximity to the centre of beautiful Uzès more than compensated. It was also very secure and extremely clean. The well-proportioned rooms were opulently furnished and the kitchen well equipped to cater for six ‘foodies’
Outside the courtyard garden was a veritable oasis with various options for relaxing and eating al fresco.
The swimming pool was a touch on the cool side even though we had fantastic weather but on a positive note it is extremely clean and bigger than the picture suggests.
The nearby supermarket and even nearer boulangerie made for great convenience. Also the little nearby pizzeria served us well for a lazy last night in.
For lovers of beer the Meduz micro-brewery was only a 25 minute walk away.
If we had any minor criticisms it would be that the television and CD player were rather complicated and might benefit from being simplified. However it wasn’t really a problem for a group of book worms! Also for a family the shower and toilet facilities are fine but for couples the typically French bathroom arrangements are a bit more challenging!
We would certainly recommend Les Palmiers and the pretty town of Uzès. We have some very happy memories.

We spent 2 wonderful weeks in Uzes – a couple + 2 single adults – and were all very happy with both Uzes and Les Palmiers. The house and grounds are even more attractive than the photos show. It was very hot during our stay but the lovely courtyard was a shady oasis for lazy afternoons round the pool, which was as sparkling as claimed. The house itself is airy and comfortable, very well equipped with kitchen items and appliances, and everything very clean and well maintained. Location is excellent: a short walk to the town centre and even shorter walk to the closest bakery and supermarket. We particularly appreciated Marie’s friendly welcome and the information Maggie emailed us on shops, restaurants and places to see. As this was our first visit to Uzes, we found this a great help in starting us off on our local explorations; there really is a lot to see and do without going very far afield. We have no hesitation recommending Les Palmiers to our friends, and hope to go back ourselves some time. The only thing we would do differently is that we would not bother to rent a car for the whole period. We found the local buses cheap and convenient, and would only need to hire a car for the occasional trip further afield.

We have now rented Les Palmiers, Uzes on 5 occasions over the last 10 years which shows we obviously enjoy our stay in this lovely French House. Perfect location 5 minute walk ti the centre of Uzes. Reach by a small door to a secure and secret walled garden and villa. You would not know it is there and thus very safe for children.
The house and gardens we find charming, not minimalistic!! Very French and not so perfect that you are afraid to put down a glass of red wine or constantly moaning at young children - very very homely.
Good sized bedrooms and bathrooms and wet rooms, lovely 3rd floor light and airy room, plenty of space to get away from everyone and find some peace if you need it.
Everything you could need in the way of cooking and dining utensils, lovely outside tables and chairs for sunbathing and wonderful pool area safely surrounded by fencing.
The location is ideal - easy level walk to Place aux Herbes, garaging for car and Marie who looks after the house is great, nothing it too much trouble for her.
Some things in the house are very French - wiring and sometimes drains need a plunge or two but no more than you would find in any French home, do not have the same English approach to complying with EU rules. However, not a problem at all, all lights worked and washing machine, dishwasher and dryers and showers worked at all times. just don't expect same
I would thoroughly recommend this to any family for a lovely relaxing holiday.
Guest rating:
This is a beautiful house, and we had a wonderful time here!
We had five people, and enjoyed the indoor and outdoor spaces thoroughly, with plenty of room for everybody. The pool was lovely to come home to after walking or going to tourist sites, and eating outdoors was very pleasant for breakfast or dinner. There are so many spaces to be in the house - the dining/living area downstairs, the extra downstairs sitting room, the upstairs office, the loft, the bedrooms, plus there are several spots to sit outside. We loved the decor and found the house suited us perfectly. The garden was outstanding - it's a little oasis, with high walls and places to sit and read or relax in the sun; it's beautifully kept and nicely grown in.
The kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, and etc., and there was plenty of room for all our groceries and for multiple people to be in the kitchen at once. The house was clean and very welcoming, and the pictures online were very accurate - except that the house is bigger than it appears, and the garden is nicer!
The house itself is located just a few minutes walk from the center of Uzes, which was perfect for picking up groceries, shopping, or having dinner in town; the bakery next door was also ideal! Uzes is also ideally located for exploring Avignon, Nimes, wineries, the Pont du Gard, etc.; it's not too far from anywhere.
The only thing that would have been nice is if there were some more basics provided in the house - in particular, we had to purchase laundry soap, hand soap for all the bathrooms, and extra toilet paper. We also didn't often get to use the designated parking spot that goes with the house, as other people would park in front of the garage, but we found lots of parking on the nearby streets.
But, overall, those were very minor issues; we had a wonderful, wonderful time, and would definitely return.
Guest rating:
We very much enjoyed our stay at this property. The house is spacious and relaxing. We very much enjoyed the use of the pool and the large outdoor area. This is only 5 minutes walk from the centre of Uzes. We found the whole process of renting this property easy and the information provided by the owner was extremely useful - including her recommendations of where to eat!
